Nearly 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events swept through the state, bringing powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Widespread Impact
Residents witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, approximately 1,000 residents in Victoria also encountered power outages after Melbourne saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams handled 598 calls for help across the area, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At the height on the previous day, more than 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
